- The most important information in addition to numbers that are in the green area was the announcement by chairman Thomas Zeck at the end of the season press conference of EC Peiting that he would no longer run in the next election.
“My limit has been exceeded.
This accumulation of offices is no longer feasible for me, ”explained Zeck.
In addition to his job as a member of the board of directors, he is also the ECP youth leader and head of the development association.
"It felt like I spent weeks in the past season creating and adapting the hygiene concept," reported the 40-year-old, who has been at the helm of EC Peiting since July 2018.
Looking for a new chairman
“Thomas invested a lot of time and did a lot of good for the club.
His step is understandable, ”said his predecessor Gerhard Weyrich, who as the second chairman, together with the management team, is now looking for a new ECP boss.
"We'll have a look around and talk to us, but you are also welcome to contact us, we can always use committed people," added Weyrich, who expressly thanked Zeck.
Before making this announcement, the outgoing chairman took stock of the exceptional season.
"Nothing was as usual, so I am satisfied with the course of the sport and the situation," explained Zeck.

"I imagined my 20th season at the ECP to be different," added managing director Peter Gast.
What he called the “roller coaster ride” ended for him as he had previously prophesied: “It was clear to me that the club would be champions in the Oberliga Süd, which was least affected by Corona, and that was Selb”, so guest.
He thanked the fans, who diligently followed the ECP games on Sprade TV, and the sponsors, who remained loyal to the club despite their own economic worries, for their support.
An important factor for guest and the ECP was also the state aid to corona.
"If only one of these three pillars had broken down, we would have had huge problems," said the ECP managing director, who then also took a look ahead.
Assumption goes in the direction of twelve top division clubs
After Selb will almost certainly rise as champion and there will be no relegation from the DEL2 and no promoted from the Bayernliga, he assumes a Oberliga Süd with twelve clubs in the coming season.
“Unlike in previous years, I haven't heard of any economic problems at any club,” said Gast.
Financially everything was OK at EC Peiting, as treasurer Werner Wiedemann-Mozart explained.
Income and expenses were almost in balance at around 551,000 euros.
"The bottom line was that we had a plus of 582 euros."
The result was possible, among other things, because the players partly waived their salaries.
From television broadcasts of the games, 37,000 euros came in.
The sponsors contributed 168,000 euros.
More money came into the till through “crowd funding” (10,000 euros) and the DEB 5-star program (22,000 euros).
Hope to renovate the hall
The largest chunk of expenditure was the personnel costs for coaches and players, which amounted to 213,000 euros.
"The financing was extremely expensive," said Wiedemann-Mozart, who also praised the support from the community, "which went beyond the normal".
For the coming season, the treasurer promised no financial tightrope act.
However, the ECP does not have to spend its own money on the complex renovation of the ice rink.
The work planned by 2025 on the roof, the cabins, the ice runway, the sanitary facilities, the ventilation system and the PV system (we have reported) will be carried out gradually by the municipality, which will receive a substantial amount of funding .
Details will be given at the annual general meeting. “We hope to find an appointment in autumn,” said Weyrich at the end of the 40-minute online conference with around 80 interested parties.
