The Syrian Embassy in Russia has completed its preparations for the presidential elections scheduled for May 20 for citizens residing abroad.
In an interview with SANA's correspondent in Moscow, Ambassador Dr. Riad Haddad indicated that the doors of the embassy will be open next Thursday from seven in the morning until seven in the evening local time in Moscow to receive the children of Syria from the expatriate residents and students studying to cast their votes in accordance with the provisions of the constitution, the general election law and the instructions issued by the committee The higher judicial authorities and the authorities supervising the elections.
Ambassador Haddad pointed out that all technical measures have been accomplished, including allocating secret rooms for voters to cast their votes freely and democratically, in addition to secret ink and placing large pictures of the three candidates in these elections so that citizens can give their votes to the candidate they choose.
Ambassador Haddad explained that all necessary measures have also been taken, consistent with Russian laws, related to precautionary measures against the Corona pandemic, and adherence to the instructions for spatial distancing, wearing masks, and not crowding.
The Syrian embassy in Moscow had called on Syrian citizens to register their names in electoral lists, either by attending in person or through the embassy’s e-mail and its address on social networking sites.
Expatriates and students studying in Russian universities and institutes, in several national and social events held at the embassy’s headquarters during the last period, affirmed their adherence to performing their duty and exercising their right to the presidential election for the sake of Syria’s future, progress and prosperity.
