In all probability there will be no first vaccinations at the vaccination center in Peißenberg this week.

The head of the facility, Christian Achmüller, announced this yesterday.

The situation is "extremely frustrating", according to Achmüller. Six weeks ago, when a lot of vaccine had suddenly been delivered, there were a lot of first vaccinations. "Now we get the receipt for it," says Achmüller and you can hear the bitterness. Because the delivery amount of Biontech vaccine has been reduced once again for this week. The 3000 vaccination doses announced for the vaccination center would be just enough for all the second vaccinations that are on the program.

The vaccination center could use a generous supply for first vaccinations right now. Because actually, according to the vaccination center boss, priority group 2, i.e. all over 70-year-olds, was largely through. Then, however, Prime Minister Markus Söder announced an extensive package of relief for all those who are fully vaccinated - including the elimination of the obligation to test when shopping or visiting a restaurant. "Then the phones rang at Sturm and we had 1000 new registrations for the Prio2," reports Achmüller. This week, however, even those eligible from this group could not get an appointment for a first vaccination because the necessary vaccine is missing.

It is not the only political decision that creates a lot of additional stress in the vaccination center. The decision not to use any Astrazeneca vaccine at all from June also caused hectic activity in Peißenberg. Because almost two weeks ago the big night vaccination campaign took place in the medical care center in Weilheim. The second vaccinations are planned for the end of July. However, then there will be no more Astrazenca deliveries. Achmüller has therefore now swapped with the resident doctors. They give their Astrazeneca, which can be kept until the end of July, to the vaccination center and receive the Astrazeneca vaccine, which Achmüller still has in stock and which can only be kept until the end of June.
