Tuen Mun District Councillor Wu Kuntai stated on Facebook yesterday (18th) that several bags of frozen meat printed with American Angus cattle packaging appeared on Golden Beach, floating in the sea.
Wu Kuntai stated that it had notified relevant departments to deal with the matter, and also cited the Marine Department to deal with it as soon as possible within a short period of time.
Wu Kuntai also pointed out that the beef was soaked in seawater at room temperature for a period of time, which is estimated to breed a lot of bacteria and urged the public not to take it home for consumption.
A spokesperson for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said that regarding the suspected floating of frozen meat at the Golden Beach in Tuen Mun, beach staff discovered suspected frozen meat floating to the beach area on Monday (17th) morning, and it was immediately cleared and weighed about 50 kilograms. Suspected frozen meat, and immediately notified relevant government departments to clean up suspected frozen meat floating on the sea outside the beach area.
