Friday (21st) was Xiaoman in the 24 solar terms. The Observatory predicted that there were thunderstorms and some showers in some areas at the beginning of the day, and it was still very hot for the next few days, and the urban area will heat up next Sunday (23rd) To 34 degrees.

A broad trough of low pressure will affect the central and northern parts of the South China Sea next week, and will bring unstable weather to the south China coast in the latter part of the next week. The Observatory expects Hong Kong to have many rainy days next week.

There will be a total lunar eclipse in the port of Japan on May 26, and the "Super Full Moon" (the largest full moon in the year) will be shown at the same time. It is expected that there will be a few showers on that day, which may hinder the viewing of the moon.

The weather was very hot on the Buddha’s birthday. The temperature rose to 33 degrees in many parts of Hong Kong at noon, but there were showers and thunderstorms in some areas.

The hot weather warning came into effect. The Home Affairs Department today opened 19 temporary summer shelters for people in need.

A southerly airstream will bring showers to the coast of Guangdong in the next one or two days. The Observatory predicts that the weather will remain very hot tomorrow. The urban area will see a high of 33 degrees. There will be sunshine during some periods and there will be a few showers. The weather further deteriorated the next day. There were thunderstorms in some areas and continued rain, which caused the urban area to cool slightly, but the weather was still hot.

As the high-altitude anticyclone strengthened slightly, showers in the area decreased during the weekend and the weather was extremely hot.

The Observatory predicts that the weather will be very hot for three consecutive days starting from Saturday, and the maximum temperature in the urban area will further rise to 34 degrees next Sunday.

At noon, it was hot in many districts. Among them, Tai Mei Tuk had risen to 35.7 degrees Celsius, and Tuen Mun also reached 35 degrees Celsius.

As a broad trough of low pressure will affect the central and northern parts of the South China Sea next week, and bring unstable weather to the south China coast in the latter part of the next week, the Observatory predicts that there will be many rainy days next week, and the sun will not be the next day, and cloudy and rainy weather will be ushered in.

The Observatory said earlier that there will be a total lunar eclipse in Hong Kong on May 26, and the "Super Full Moon" will be added at the same scene. The diameter of the moon will be about 7% larger than the usual full moon.

As sunlight passes through the earth’s atmosphere, only red light is left to be refracted to the surface of the moon, and the moon will appear red, so some people also call a total lunar eclipse a "blood moon."

The Observatory expects that there will be sunshine for a short period of time and a few showers on that day, which may hinder moon viewing.
