In the district of Erding, traffic is counted until October.
That is the reason why:
Erding - The construction of new roads is more controversial than ever.
But which new traffic routes are really necessary, and where is relief necessary?
Every five years, the road construction authorities collect data according to a guideline from the Federal Ministry of Transport, currently in the Erding district.
Because just the feeling that there is more and more traffic is not enough for reliable planning.
New noise protection measures are also determined in this way.
The measurement, which lasted several months, should actually have taken place in 2020, but the corona pandemic with lockdown and home office would not have provided any reliable data.
It will now be made up until October, says Thomas Jakob, spokesman for the Munich road construction authority.
Counting takes place on different days and at different times, namely two-wheelers, cars, delivery vans, buses, trucks and trailers.
According to Jakob, counters with tally sheets are used, but also special delineator posts that automatically record the frequency.
There are 103 of them in the district, the road maintenance depots in Erding and Taufkirchen set them up at a new location every week.
