Germany's Nordic neighbor is opening up: Denmark is dropping further corona restrictions, opening all facilities that have been closed so far - almost all of them.

Copenhagen - The flood of openings in Denmark continues: from Friday, May 21, 2021, the Scandinavian country wants to open almost all previously closed facilities.

The Danish government agreed on this on the night of Tuesday, May 18, 2021, with a large majority of the parliamentary parties in Copenhagen.

Denmark's relatively low and stable corona numbers make it possible.

Denmark

Restaurants, bars, fitness studios and many other facilities have already been opened in the country in previous easing phases.

Most of the students have also been back in face-to-face classes a long time ago.

Now students should also return completely to the universities, the same applies to evening and music schools.

Corona easing: Denmark opens saunas and zoos

Visits to saunas, bathing areas and indoor areas of zoos and amusement parks that have been closed for months should also be possible again, as well as other sports, leisure and club activities.

The work in the home office will also be reduced in three phases, so that all Danes can be back at their place of work by August 1st.

The ban on gathering has been increased for indoor events from a maximum of 25 to 50 and outdoors from 75 to 100 participants.

Denmark opens - but one facility remains closed

Certain corona rules * are required for the openings, such as showing the corona passport, which can be used to prove negative corona tests, vaccinations and survived infections in Denmark.

However, the government and parties agreed to gradually phase out the regulations for wearing mouth and nose protection and showing the corona passport - a plan for this is to be presented in June.

One facility should remain closed: night clubs and discos.

Denmark's corona numbers have recently increased in the wake of the easing, but the number of new infections in the population was further below the German incidence in the most recent comparative figures from the EU health authority ECDC.

So nothing stands in the way of a holiday in Denmark.
