The property next to the FC Bayern store has been empty since then.
For the Sport- und Tourismuscenter GmbH, owned by Wendling 16 and in which the municipality of Irschenberg and the Kreissparkasse Tegernsee Miesbach each have a 50 percent stake, it was obviously not easy to find a successor, as Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) asked our newspaper explains: "There were some interested people, but only KFC was left with the rental price."

The fact that KFC is taking the property with only 354 square meters of usable space can be seen as a positive assessment of the location.
Because the company, which is on a course of expansion, is looking for properties from 1500 square meters with a very high traffic frequency, exposed location and visibility from 150 meters.
And Germany, as well as the markets of Austria, Switzerland and Denmark, which are served from here, are the "strategic growth markets", it says on the KFC homepage.

But before there are chicken-based snacks there, the building has to be rebuilt.
It is planned with 68 seats on 106 square meters of guest area.
There is also a drive-in lane, the entrance of which is behind the building, leads around the house and leaves the property via the exit opposite the coffee roastery.
According to Meixner, the existing parking spaces are also sufficient for use as a fast food restaurant.
The mayor is happy that the search is now over: “You always only know afterwards whether it is the right thing.” In any case, it complements the existing offer.
Meixner therefore assumes that it is not Dinzler and McDonald's that will benefit from their new neighbors, but also FC Bayern.
