The newly established Covid rapid test center on the site in front of the Event Arena at the Hotel Bachmair Weissach is currently empty.
“You just notice the high incidence,” sighs Daniel Dosch.
As managing director of Pixel Branding from Munich, he and his wife run two offshoots of the Germany-wide company COVID rapid test center in the district: one in the Tegernsee valley and one in Holzkirchen.
Day-trippers in view
Both stations are largely geared towards day trippers.
If you set a course for the Tegernsee valley, you can drive to the Holzkirchen test center in the industrial park immediately after exiting the motorway and have yourself tested from the car, says Dosch.
A quarter of an hour later, the result can be called up on the mobile phone via a QR code.
“Then I can go straight to the restaurant at Tegernsee,” says Dosch.
Only: Currently, the highest incidence in Bavaria is causing the district to remain in lockdown.
The beer gardens are closed, as are most of the shops - a negative test doesn't help.
Thus, the lockdown also paralyzes the corona test stations.
Stay seated in the car during the test
The center in Holzkirchen has been open since May 10, the station in Weissach since last Monday.
There are six employees in each of the two centers who have been trained for their new tasks.
“Most of them come from the event industry,” reports Dosch.
He is convinced that the tide will turn as the incidence falls.
When hotels and restaurants are allowed to reopen and offices are reoccupied, the demand for tests is likely to be huge.
At least until the majority of citizens are fully vaccinated.
Dosch, who is already negotiating additional locations for test centers, is counting on this.
In addition to the free quick tests, fee-based PCR tests are also offered; you can log in as a pedestrian or be tested from the car.
No connection to the district registration system
Dosch is grateful for the cooperation with the Bachmair Weissach, as well as for the support of the Sandoz / Hexal company in Holzkirchen, on whose parking lot the station is located. 400 tests per day would easily be possible at Bachmair Weissach, in Holzkirchen even 600. Appointments can be booked online at www.covid-schnelltestzentrum.de. The centers operated by the company are not connected to the district's registration portal (www.reihentestung.de).
