A demonstration demanding greater security in Villa Lugano this Tuesday led to a violent confrontation between residents of the area and agents of the City Police who were guarding the place.

As a result of the clashes, there were

six people arrested

.

Four of the detainees were accused of

possession and illegal possession of a weapon of war

, resistance to authority, concealment and investigation of drug dealing.

While two other women had previously been detained amid clashes between the police and neighbors.

The tension in Villa Lugano grew this Tuesday afternoon, after the night before

several shootings

were registered

in the area

due to the dispute between different drug gangs.

The situation led a group of residents to gather in the General Paz avenue area, at the height of Castañares avenue, to demand a greater police presence in the

Padre Mugica neighborhood

.

The protesters claimed that the protagonists of these shootings

were hiding within the neighborhood

and, therefore, demanded the intervention of the police.

While demanding the arrest of the drug traffickers, the protesters tried to take over the prefecture post in the INTA neighborhood

The protesters, including women and children, stood firm in the place and when they tried to advance with the traffic cut, they collided with the police who were guarding the protest.

The struggles ended with two women arrested.

At a time when the tension increased, the neighbors denounced that while the agents were guarding them, the shootings continue a few meters away.

However, the Police remained in one of the entrances to the neighborhood, on Castañares Avenue, while some angry neighbors set

garbage containers

on

fire

.

There were also runs through the corridors of the neighborhood, and attacks on a patrol car.

In this context, residents of the

Piedrabuena village

- which borders the Padre Mugica neighborhood - stoned the protesters and they returned the attack.

Operational to "shield" the area

Hours later, around 8:30 p.m., a significant number of agents surrounded the neighborhood and began to walk the corridors.

That was one of the central requests of the neighbors who denounced being in danger due to the constant

shootings between drug gangs

.

The policemen were received with applause, although there were moments of tension, with some bullfights, when the agents tried to advance through the internal streets.

Agents from the Rapid Intervention Division (DIR), Motorized Action Groups (GAM), the Urban Operations Division (DOU) and members of Comuna 8 participated in the operation.

As part of the police intervention, four people were detained accused of

illegal possession and carrying of a weapon of war

, resistance to authority, concealment and investigation of

drug dealing

.

The Criminal, Misconduct and Misdemeanor Prosecutor's Office No. 35 intervened, in charge of the prosecutor Celda Ramírez.

According to witnesses, when the troops entered the streets of the neighborhood, the suspects began to run in different directions, being detained a few blocks away.

One of the detainees was found with a Bersa Thunder brand pistol, caliber 9 mm, with a magazine with 16 ammunition, a communications equipment with the inscription BAOFENG.

Four cell phones

and the sum of $ 1,070 in cash

were also seized

.

Investigators determined that the suspects were part of one of the drug gangs operating in the neighborhood.

Likewise, the City Police ordered

a security reinforcement

in the area, with patrolling and identification of people.

The objective, they assured, was to

"shield"

the income to the neighborhood to avoid the clashes that took place on Monday night.

Regarding the neighborhood request to arrest the gangs that carried out the shootings, official sources assured that "there are several investigations underway, but they

are being held back due to the lack of court orders

."

As detailed, there are requests for searches made

four months

ago

that were not approved by the Justice.

These operations are linked to different causes that are processed in the federal jurisdiction.

Official sources affirmed that the disputes in the Mugica neighborhood are linked to gangs that were displaced from Villa 21-24, where drug bunkers were closed.

Shooting war

The cutting of General Paz Avenue and the protest this afternoon from the neighbors came hand in hand with fed up after the shootings on Monday night and early Tuesday morning, in a neighborhood engulfed by

a war between gangs

.

As

Clarín was

able to reconstruct

, there are

two versions

about the beginning of this outbreak.

One indicates that a drug gang (detachment from the powerful organization of Marco Estrada Gonzáles on 1.11.14) wanted to sell drugs in the INTA neighborhood and there they

harassed the owners of that stall

.

The second version points to a fight between

"chorros pibes"

who assault consumers who enter the neighborhood to buy drugs.

This version frames the shooting in the eternal dispute between

"transas" and "jets"

.

Those who sell drugs do not like thieves because they scare off customers.

In addition, the Barrio Padre Mugica has the particularity of having brought together people from different settlements (Villa 1.11.14, Villa Inflamable, Villa Cartón), with different belongings.

In other words, workers, but there are also drug dealers and thieves.

That is why

the dispute is almost constant

.

"Things got very very spicy. The neighborhood is made up of" stalls "(groups of three-story buildings). Some are quiet but others, such as Platea 5, are very complicated," a police source from the Town.

This includes

deaths, injuries and shootings

like the one shown in the videos.
