Ambassador Hassan Khaddour, the permanent representative of Syria to the United Nations office in Vienna, presented his credentials to the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Lee Young.

In turn, Young expressed his aspiration to enhance mutual cooperation and coordination between the organization and the Syrian government to ensure the continuation of the support provided to Syria through development programs, expressing his understanding of the issues and challenges facing Syria since the beginning of the crisis in it, in particular the country's inability to import medical equipment and the impact of its ability to produce it and the withdrawal of the matter as well. Yong stressed the organization's readiness to do everything possible to provide the necessary support to promote national expertise and expand its programs aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve sustainable development of the industrial sector.
