At least 75% of residents of the Olympic Village of the Tokyo Games "have already been vaccinated or are planning to do so" before their opening on July 23, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said on Wednesday.
"We have good reasons to believe that this rate will rise well beyond 80%", added Mr. Bach during an online meeting with the Japanese organizers of the Olympics, the maintenance of which is criticized in Japan because of the still difficult health situation in the country.
