The Court of Cassation definitively validated Wednesday the referral to the Assize Court of Hassan Diab, the only suspect found by justice for the attack on rue Copernic on October 3, 1980 in Paris, which left 4 dead and 46 injured near a synagogue in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.

On January 27, the Paris Court of Appeal quashed the dismissal pronounced in 2018 in this case where contradictory evidence has been fiercely debated for more than ten years. This 67-year-old Lebanese-Canadian academic, who has repeatedly proclaimed his innocence, is accused of having planted the bomb.
