In Gmund, a car driver found a cat worth around 100 euros.
The Bad Wiessee police are now looking for witnesses who observed the accident.
Gmund - The officers of the Bad Wiessee police station are currently dealing with an unusual case: They are looking for a still unknown driver who has run over a cat that cost 1000 euros in Gmund - without stopping afterwards.
According to the owner, the animal is a bred British Shorthair cat, according to the police.
Bad Wiessee police are looking for witnesses after a cat accident - the owner was probably a direct resident
As the officials say, it is unclear whether the driver noticed the accident. "The owner of the animal assumes that the cat was on the street at the time of the accident on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. and should have been seen by the driver." However, this is still part of the investigation. "Cats often suddenly jump onto the street and are caught, for example, by the rear wheels," says a police spokesman. Dodging is not recommended in such cases due to a possible risk to oncoming traffic - and braking in good time is sometimes not possible.
Since the driver caught the cat in the 30 zone on Dorfstrasse near the owner's house, he noticed the accident immediately. "He called us immediately afterwards," reports a police spokesman. Investigations after cats run over are rather rare in the catchment area of the Bad Wiesse police. The officers are now looking for witnesses to clarify the situation, and they can call 0 80 22/9 87 80.
