He is an honorary citizen and Pullacher out of conviction.

Nobody knows as many stories as he does from the history of the community on the Isar high bank.

As “Dr.

Pullach honorary “Erwin Deprosse was once named by a friend.

Today the local history researcher and community archivist is 90 years old.

Pullach

- When you talk to Erwin Deprosse on the phone, meet him, start talking to him: Then it usually doesn't take long and you are in the middle of some event that likes to play at times when the house with the butcher was still standing on Kirchplatz 9, with a grocery store and the hairdresser Wendelin Suthmaier, who made up for the children at Mardi Gras.

He witnessed the invasion of the Americans himself

When Erwin Deprosse was granted honorary citizenship of the community six years ago, after various speeches that had been made for him, he went to the microphone and told a few highlights from the history of Pullach.

In that case they all played in the war that Deprosse experienced as a youth in Pullach.

Particularly exciting is the episode of the Americans who parked their jeeps in the center of the village, who were besieged by teenagers who eventually drove away.

Then two German soldiers came out of a nearby bush, armed, who would have liked to shoot the occupiers - had it not been for Deprosse and his friends in the way.

“Just imagine,” says Erwin Deprosse on the phone, “what that would have meant for Pullach”.

The town hall was his home for almost 40 years

In 1936 his parents moved with him, who was then five years old, from Munich to the community on the Isar high bank. They found an apartment at Habenschadenstrasse 17, and Deprosse quickly got in touch with the other children. I just wondered why they suddenly all disappeared towards evening, when the church bells rang. They darted home for evening prayer, he says, which at that time was still part of the daily rhythm. "None of the farmers used to have a clock ..."

Erwin Deprosse is not only known as a sore thumb in Pullach because he spent his professional life with the community.

He started at the residents' registration office, later, from 1982, he was manager, for almost 40 years the town hall was his home during the day.

He faced two fires at the chemical giant Peroxide, he saw Mayor Josef Breher as an energetic man who, with foresight, acquired the free space on the other side of the railway.

Many citizens did not understand that at the time, says Deprosse.

Today the high school stands on one of the areas.

A lot of momentum in the place

But the tall, 1.83-meter-tall man is also practically part of the community's inventory because he has given the social life on the doorstep. He initiated a running meeting on the Isar high bank, he led ski and summer gymnastics and invited to local walks, where he appeared as a storyteller. He was the chief fire officer in the fire brigade, and at Mardi Gras he was sometimes seen dancing with two women at the same time. He has a daughter with his wife Karin, whom he met while doing ski gymnastics, and the Deprosses are now grandparents of two. And then, when he retired, he started right back at the town hall - as a volunteer archivist.

How is he doing considering today's special birthday? “Oh,” he says in his always friendly manner, “90 is a special number, and since I'm healthy, I'm looking forward to celebrating the day”. In a small circle, of course, there is no other way.
