Participants in the thirty-fifth annual conference of the Construction Contractors Association called for solving the problem of bank guarantees for stalled and stalled projects, giving guarantees to the project partners and others by a contractor involved, and securing the fuel needs of works contracts executed by contractors according to the official approved price.
Participants in the conference held under the slogan (Your voice is the dignity of a nation) in Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus demanded that the classification document and the Syndicate membership certificate from the bidder be satisfied during his participation in the tenders and to address the problem of disbursing the dues of the joint and mutual contractor with another contractor in a single project in the event that one of the partners travels or is not present. And asking the existing contractor to carry out the rest of the work.
In a speech during the conference, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, affirmed that the Ministry is keen to assist contractors and enhance the role of the contracting sector in coordination with the Syndicate to improve its performance, especially in the next phase of the reconstruction phase, noting the union’s role in defending the rights of contractors, raising their level and normalizing their profession. Discussing the reports presented at the conference objectively and coming up with recommendations that contribute to the development of the work.
The Minister of Housing pointed out that the convening of the conference coincides with the approaching date of the presidential elections, which will be completed and the broad participation in them, a message to the world that Syria is strong with its people and institutions.
For his part, the Contractor’s Syndicate President, Engineer Ayman Malandi, indicated that the recommendations and proposals presented during the conference will be part of the union’s work plan to provide everything that serves the interest of contractors and to complete the work with appropriate quality and quality and to overcome various difficulties, noting the Ministry’s quick response in overcoming the obstacles that hinder the work of contractors and its permanent support to create Appropriate solutions to their demands.
The conference was attended by Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly, Akram Al-Ajlani, Assistant Minister of Public Works, a number of managers, stakeholders, contractors, heads and representatives of popular organizations, unions and professional federations.
