In the debate about the future of the Wolfratshausen District Clinic, the Medical District Association speaks out - and positions itself.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen
- The Medical District Association (ÄKV) around its chairman Dr. Andreas Lang has positioned himself in an open letter with a view to the Wolfratshausen district clinic. In the course of future health care in the district, “a cooperation between the two acute clinics”, that is, the district clinic and the Asklepios city clinic in Bad Tölz, “makes the most sense” for the ÄKV. In addition, other alliances "such as with Starnberg for obstetrics and gynecology or Agatharied for psychiatry are useful and desirable," said Lang. A “wider network” with Weilheim, Garmisch, Penzberg and Murnau “would enable an extensive range”. According to the ÄKV, this could be rounded off by medical care centers, “specialist medical practices and dialysis”.
The ÄKV prefers clinic in hand of the district
The majority of the medical district association see the “economization of the health system” as “extremely critical”.
Therefore, one prefers "clearly and unambiguously" a "non-profit sponsorship" of the district clinic in municipal hands.
Regardless of the provider, however, every clinic has to work economically and can "not only rely on financing from public funds for its deficits," said the Gaißacher.
Ergo, "from our point of view, the district clinic actually needs one or more strong cooperation partners and an intelligent concept".
The ÄKV takes offense at the sometimes "hostile" attitude towards Asklepios and at the "shutting down" of the district clinic staff. Lang emphasizes that none of those affected work for a company or the district, "but for their patients". (cce)
