Miesbach - After the corona-related closings of large parts of the retail trade as well as the hotel and catering trade since November 2020, the first opening steps were set at the beginning of May, depending on the incidence: for example, outdoor restaurants can open from May 10th and hotels and holiday apartments from May 21st - provided the incidence in the respective district is below the threshold of 100 for at least 7 days.

Corona incidence in the Miesbach district: As quickly as possible and constantly below 100

The district of Miesbach has not yet achieved precisely this goal.

“In view of the falling number of infections, the districts on the edge of the Alps are looking to the Whitsun holidays with hope - except for Miesbach.

Unfortunately, the situation for our gastronomy and tourist businesses is worsening here: everyone opens up all around, only we have to wait, "summarizes Olaf von Löwis, District Administrator of the Miesbach district.

"The common goal of the district and for everyone is clear: to get below the incidence value of 100 as quickly and consistently as possible."

District of Miesbach: Corona incidence prevents openings - campaign is intended to sensitize citizens

The location marketing company, the Alpine region Tegernsee Schliersee and Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH have now started a social media campaign to draw attention to the situation. From Wednesday, May 19th, targeted posts will be created and advertised on Facebook and Instagram for a period of initially one week. "In this joint campaign, we want to raise awareness of the fact that in the current situation we can only achieve this important goal of falling below the incidence limit of 100 by joining forces, with consideration and solidarity," explains Lukas Hanrieder, who is in charge of social media at ATS .
