The village development in Langenpreising is progressing.

At the instigation of the CSU, the local council has now decided on a direction and is setting up a working group.

There is also a schedule that is to be approved in the July meeting of the body.

The CSU had put the guidelines for citizen participation on the agenda.

Langenpreising - The working group includes Mayor Josef Straßer (FWG), his deputy Leo Melerowitz, Stephan Hoynatzky (both CSU), Anton Wollschläger (Greens), Franz Neumüller and Joseph Adelsberger (both FWG). From the various proposals that are already in the room, you will work out a version that is suitable for Langenpreising, how the citizens can be specifically involved in the further planning.

After the meeting, in an interview with our newspaper, Straßer became more precise: He said that specific funding areas had to be defined.

To this end, he will suggest starting with something comparatively small, for example with the old forge and its surroundings.

“You can then practice.” That makes sense before tackling larger projects such as the Unterwirts property.

Incidentally, this is still on the agenda, the mayor made clear.

The Unterwirt property, at the time bought by the community on credit, was known to trigger the whole discussion.

The old building was demolished in 2009.

The debate was sparked, among other things, by the now discarded idea of expanding the cemetery right here.

Clear rules for the involvement of interested citizens had always been a demand in the municipal council, and not only from the direction of the CSU. The frustration was too great, especially in “Working Group 3”, where a lot of thought had been given, but almost all of them somehow petered out. The aim is to prevent this from happening again, so that the whole project doesn't fizzle out. Exactly the municipal councils who have repeatedly called for these rules are now also members of the working group.

The support areas targeted by Straßer must be coordinated with the Office for Rural Development. Such a definition has concrete effects: In these subsidized areas, private investments that are in line with the major planning objective can then also be subsidized by the Free State of Bavaria - at least up to a certain amount. In the 2021 budget, the municipal council has made funds available for measures in the context of village renewal, so that the citizens who want to participate and contribute can also make a concrete difference.
