At 3:5 pm today (19th), the police received a report stating that a woman was found drowning in a coma on the surface of Emei Chau, Yin Chau Tong, Sai Kung. The 52-year-old female victim, surnamed Fang, was rescued by a friend and sent to Wong Shek Pier. Later, she was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital by ambulance. The woman was wearing a sunscreen and lost consciousness when she was sent to the hospital. The ambulanceman gave her an emergency for extracardiac pressure, but was later certified dead.
The police are investigating the incident.
According to the news, the deceased and more than a dozen friends set off from Huangshi Wharf to swim at Crescent Bay at about 8 pm tonight. They went to the water for lunch at 12 pm and then continued to swim. At about 2 pm, a friend discovered that the victim was missing. The victim was found drowning in the sea.
