An electronic bug will force some French people to redo their tax declaration

The amounts paid by the Health Insurance have not been taken into account in the pre-filled declarations of certain taxpayers. For the moment, only the funds of Brittany are concerned.


If you were on sick leave, on paternity or maternity leave, in an accident at work or if you received an invalidity pension during the year 2020, you may have to redo your tax return.

Indeed, as noted by Ouest France, a computer bug prevented the automatic transmission of these indemnities paid by Health Insurance and normally immediately listed on the pre-filled declarations.

Result: nearly 400,000 taxpayers, all dependent on the various funds in Brittany, will have to inform online these allowances in their declaration.

And for the most part paying more taxes than expected.

Following a national IT incident, the transmission of data on the taxable benefits of insured persons (sick leave, maternity / paternity leave, work accident or invalidity pension) was not automatically transferred to the pre-filled declarations of income in 2020, produced by the tax authorities

SMS, emails and letters

As a reminder, taxpayers can complete these declarations on the internet until May 26, 2021 for departments 1 to 19 as well as non-resident taxpayers in France, until June 1, 2021 for departments 20 to 54 ( including the two departments of Corsica) and until June 8, 2021 for departments n ° 55 to 974/976.
