In Neuilly-sur-Marne, did the vaccinees receive simple physiological serum?

2021-05-23T23:33:35.770Z

A patient, who received her dose on May 14 at the center of Neuilly-sur-Marne, must have a blood test next Wednesday to check

“I was stunned by the news”. On May 14, Chantal *, a resident of Villeparisis (Seine-et-Marne), went to the municipal center of Neuilly-sur-Marne (Seine-Saint-Denis) to receive her first dose of vaccine against Covid 19. The care went "very well". But the fiftieth birthday was "blown away" this Saturday by listening to the voice message of a doctor at the center on his phone. The latter invites her to make an appointment for a blood test "to check that she has been vaccinated". In all, these "precautions" concern 56 people who came to be vaccinated that day, recognizes the center.

Chantal will therefore go to the Covid 19 screening center in the town next Wednesday for her blood sample.

"The result will arrive within a week to find out what I was injected," continues the teacher.

It's still scary!

"

"Do we still say to each other?"

"

In this same voice message, which we were able to listen to, the doctor specifies “that it would seem that among the people who would have received an injection at the same time, some had not received the vaccine, but simply physiological serum.

"

"Hearing that word, do we still say to each other?"

»Exclaims Chantal.

Because this story recalls the "mistake" made on April 3 at the Châtillon vaccination center in Hauts-de-Seine.

54 people had received physiological saline instead of the Pfizer vaccine.

A blunder which also occurred in a center of Épernay in the East of France as well as in Deauville (Calvados).

These injections based on salt water "are not serious", recalled the Regional Health Agency (ARS).

This type of case results from a defect in the preparation of the vaccine.

An inoculation with Pfizer indeed requires a mixture of 1.8 milliliters of physiological serum with 0.45 milliliters of vaccine dose.

But in Neuilly-sur-Marne, Djénéba Diaby, doctor of the center and assistant to the health of the city, affirms that there was "probably" no serum injected.

"We have already recalled 50 people concerned out of 56. The latter have already taken their blood samples and the results show that they have been immunized", assures the elected official.

Until now, Chantal had not yet been warned because she would have been "difficult to reach".

"They had my cell phone number anyway," retorts the professor.

A nurse "let herself be overwhelmed"

According to Djénéba Diaby, these "precautions" are "easily" explained.

Each day, there are often additional doses at the end of the day in the center.

But this Friday, May 14, a nurse "let herself be overwhelmed" and "no longer knew where she was in her doses".

"It's understandable," says the practitioner.

We went from 370 people vaccinated per week in January to 2,500 today.

The pressure is much stronger because there are more people.

"

This is not the first time that these checks have occurred after injections in the center.

Forty people were called back for a blood test for the same reason in April.

"All the patients were contacted again to inform them that they were well immunized," says Djénéba Diaby.

The vaccine was therefore injected into them.

“All the same, Chantal is“ stressed ”.

We will have to wait a little longer to find out whether or not she has received her dose.

* the first name has been changed at the request of the person
