Tunisia - SANA
Today, members of the Syrian community in Tunisia organized symbolic elections in support of the presidential elections in Syria, in cooperation between the League of the Arab Nation and a number of Tunisian associations and national bodies.
A number of members of the Syrian community who flocked to polling stations in the capital, Tunis, to participate in these symbolic elections due to the interruption of diplomatic relations between Syria and Tunisia since 2012, affirmed that the elections embody the independence of the Syrian national decision and affirms that only Syrians decide the future of their country and defend its sovereignty.
The participants stressed that the Syrian people are victorious in their battle and that they will decide, through presidential elections in every democracy, who will represent them in the future.
These symbolic elections send several messages, the most prominent of which is that Syrians and Tunisians have welcomed the new phase, which Syria is entering with a steady pace towards reconstruction and prosperity, so that the Syrians confirm the importance of the elections in their country, renewing the call to Syrians at home to participate extensively in the presidential elections.
