Participants in the meeting that took place in the Hama Provincial Council stressed the need to accelerate work on the Hama Salamiya highway project, whose implementation rate reached 90 percent, and the Masyaf-Homs highway, whose implementation rate reached 50 percent, overcoming the obstacles they encounter, as well as establishing an industrial city in Hama for its role in advancing development in the governorate. In this regard, the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment agreed to allocate an area of 90 hectares within the Barkan and Dail al-Ajl real estate areas in Salamiyah, and to provide accreditation to start the infrastructure for the establishment of an industrial city.
The meeting also called for speeding up work on the road law node linking the Faisal Rugby Roundabout with the Health Roundabout within the city of Hama, the creation of an internal transport company, the provision of network supplies and electrical works in the governorate from cables, anchors and transformers, and the provision of adequate electrical supply for the Ba'rin water project, which irrigates about 30,000 people, and the creation of a transfer station. In turn, the Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaim, pointed out that the financial allocations are being distributed on road projects according to their service priorities, with a focus on central roads and their maintenance periodically in order to ensure the preservation of their technical readiness and the safety of their users, indicating that the Hama Salamah Highway project will be of interest and support to continue the completion of its implementation work. For his part, the Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ghassan Al-Zamil, stated that the ministry has promising projects to improve the electricity system in Syria, the most important of which is the establishment of stations to produce electricity with alternative energy (solar and wind), which would relieve pressure on thermal electrical stations, announcing that 600 new megawatts would be added to the electrical network by the end This year, by rehabilitating and operating a number of power plants, which will positively affect the reality of electricity.
