A member of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad (Esmad) received serious burns on Saturday night when personnel from that unit were attacked with a Molotov cocktail while responding to acts of vandalism on the South Highway in Bogotá, reported in his Twitter account the Major General of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police Óscar Antonio Gómez.
The uniformed man, who the police identified as Cristhian Calderón, was rushed to the Police General Hospital and underwent surgery in the intensive care unit on Sunday morning, Gómez said.
