India reported 4,454 new deaths from covid-19 on Monday, bringing the death toll in the country to 303,720, according to the Indian Ministry of Health.
India is the third country to report more than 300,000 deaths from the virus, after the United States and Brazil, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
They recovered from covid-19 only to die of a black fungus infection.

India's Ministry of Health also reported 222,315 new coronavirus cases, making this the fourth consecutive day that the number of reported cases in the country has decreased.
However, Monday's death count is the highest reported daily death toll since May 19.

India has reported a total of 26,752,447 coronavirus cases, including 23,728,011 recoveries and 2,720,716 active cases, the Indian Ministry of Health said on Monday.
At least 196,051,962 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered since January 16.
