Manuel Pellegrini continues to make history in Spain.
His team, Real Betis,
sealed the qualification for the Europa League with a victory against Celta de Vigo on the last date of LaLiga
and thus returned to international competitions.
A healthy habit for the 'Engineer', who previously achieved the same milestone with Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga:
in ten seasons directing there, he only once failed to get into the cup stands.
The national coach came to
a team that in the previous season had barely escaped relegation
, so the mission was not easy: the Verdiblancos bet on him to lead a three-year project, with the aim of recovering the good level and , at least, not having to constantly battle with the risk of losing the category.
However, as he usually does, Pellegrini surprised everyone and achieved results faster than expected.
After an irregular start to the season, in which they combined high-level matches with streaks of poor results, Betis found a turning point at the end of December with which they got on track towards their great European goal.
In fact, he scored 42 points in the 22 games he played in the domestic tournament in Spain in 2021.
The award-winning strategist adds to his legend in the 'Old Continent'
