The Higher Judicial Committee for Elections has set at seven o'clock tomorrow morning, Tuesday, to start the electoral silence and stop advertising for candidates for the post of President of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The committee clarified in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that, in accordance with the provisions of Article 58 of the 2014 General Elections Law and its executive instructions, the electoral campaigning shall be stopped 24 hours before the date set for the election, which will take place on the twenty-sixth of this month. Tomorrow morning, Tuesday.
On the tenth of this month, the Supreme Constitutional Court issued its decision to finally announce the list of candidates for the post of President of the Republic, namely Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Bashar Hafez al-Assad and Mahmoud Ahmad Marei, and set the date for the election campaign for the candidates from the date of the 16th to the 24th of this May.
