A serious traffic accident occurred on Route 3, and the two drivers involved miraculously suffered only minor injuries.
At about 5 am, it was reported that a private car and a lorry were driving along Tsing Kwai Highway towards Tsing Yi, and when they were on the way off Lai Chi Kok Highway, the two vehicles collided.
The truck accidentally turned over, and the private car was hit out of control and broke through the fence and flew out of the bridge. It fell directly into the parking lot of a Route 3 Control Zone on Damei Road under the 20-meter-high bridge. At the same time, it caught fire and the driver was suspected of being trapped.
The firefighters rushed to the bridge floor and the bottom of the bridge.
Among them, on Damei Road, the firefighter found that a driver was injured in the head and was waiting for rescue outside the burning private car.
The firefighter opened the throat to put out the car's fire. The ambulancemen gave first aid to the driver with a head injury and rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment. When he arrived, he was still awake and complaining of pain frequently.
After the accident, the involved private car overturned and overwhelmed one of the private cars in the parking lot. Both cars were severely damaged. As for the bridge deck, the truck involved turned to the right after the accident. The driver was trapped in the car and was injured. Fortunately, the fire officer was still awake. After he was rescued, he was transferred to the hospital by ambulancemen for treatment.
The police are investigating the cause of the car accident.
According to preliminary information, the truck was driving on the second lane on the left. It is suspected that the private car was out of control due to the rain, and it kept swinging from side to side, hitting a truck on the neighboring lane and causing the above accident.
