In a new twist of this
serialized novel
in which the candidacy of Daniel Rafecas for the Attorney General's Office became, now from the sector most referenced in Cristina Kirchner of the ruling Senate bench they came to
warn that they are not willing to accompany
the statement of the judge because he is
"the candidate of Cambiemos
.
"
In March of last year, President Alberto Fernández was the one who proposed Rafecas to be the chief prosecutor.
Since then,
its specifications have remained
in the upper house.

The reaction of the Christian wing of the Senate's Frente de Todos block is due to the recent public offers from Together for Change to move forward in the Senate with the treatment of the Rafecas statement.
After a series of internal discussions, the main opposition group sent signals that they could help the ruling party to obtain two-thirds to approve the appointment of Rafecas.
The position that prevailed in the opposition is what they call the
"lesser evil
" and that Elisa Carrió has fired since last year.
They prefer Rafecas to a lawyer with a Kirchner profile.
Last week, when the ruling party was getting ready to obtain an opinion of the commission in Deputies to the bill to reform the law of the Public Prosecutor's Office and
Alberto Fernández
accused the opposition of locking two thirds in the Senate, the national table of Together for the Cambio was
willing to support the statement
in exchange for the withdrawal of this initiative from Congress.
"
It is clear that Kirchnerism never wanted Rafecas as Attorney General
and prioritizes his law to end the independence of Justice," tweeted the radical Mario Negri, president of the interblock of Together for the Change in Deputies.
Together with @luisnaidenoff we demand from Cristina Kirchner that the Senate treat the statement of Daniel Rafecas, which has been drafted for a year.

What's more: Negri and his Senate
counterpart Luis Naidenoff
demanded a note from
Cristina Kirchner to
start the treatment of the Rafecas statement,
"which has been drafted for a year."
But those movements of the opposition provoked the reaction of Christianity: now they
warned that they are not going to vote on the Rafecas statement because it is being promoted by Cambiemos
.
In good Creole: they seem to have found
a new excuse
for not supporting the candidate proposed by Alberto Fernández.
"Now Rafecas is basically Negri's candidate,"
ironic a senator who responds to Cristina Kirchner.
Another Peronist senator added:
"It only remains for Macri and Larreta to support him and we sing full cardboard."
More reasons for discomfort
In the smallest wing of the bench of the Frente de Todos they are also annoyed with Rafecas for announcing that he would lower his application in case the law of the Public Prosecutor's Office is modified.
“Rafecas wanted to condition the senators of the Nation when he said that he would decline his candidacy if the law was changed.
What he did is unacceptable
.
I shouldn't even have had an opinion, ”objected a Peronist.
A senator K, more upset, added: "
It should have been called for silence and instead he began to co-choir
.
"
Close to Vice President Cristina Kirchner they coincide, although with a more moderate tone:
“Rafecas's public expressions were not very wise.
They were not talking about violating any regulations, but about sanctioning a better law ”.
Sources close to
Cristina Kirchner
question the opposition for having now offered to collaborate with two thirds.
“When the quorum of Deputies was almost achieved to approve the new law (of the Procuratorate) they offered to help the ruling party to approve the specifications.
It was a swerve
that they gave ”, they maintained.
And they added: “They are chicaneando us.
It is clear to us that what
they want is for
(the interim prosecutor
Eduardo) Casal to continue
”.
In the environment of the vice president they emphasize that the order of treatment must be as follows:
first
the sanction of the new law of the Public Prosecutor's Office and only
after
the statement of the candidate for attorney.
New law
Last week the bill obtained an opinion in a plenary session of the Deputies' Commissions for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, and left the initiative ready to be voted on at the venue.
Among other changes, the bill
reduces the attorney general's term to five years
- today it is for life -;
establishes that to elect him an absolute majority (37 votes) will be required instead of the two-thirds (48) in force;
removing him will not require a political trial;
and the replacement system is changed in case of vacancy.
Until now, the ruling party does not have the quorum to be able to take the initiative to the venue.
But according to the information that they handle in the bench of the Front of All of the Senate, the Deputies did not give up and
"continue working" to get the law.
"They say they are about to advance," they comment in the K wing of the block.
"
It is going to open a loophole," they
say.
So far all the scores indicate that the ruling party would be missing between
four and six deputies
to reach a quorum and be able to start the session.

An interpretation that spreads in the ruling Senate bench is that
"it would be a political defeat"
not to draft a new law and approve the Rafecas statement, now "stained" - according to them - due to opposition support.
In the event that the law is advanced, the Executive Power
must withdraw
its statement from the Senate.
On the one hand, because the judge said that with a new rule he will not accept being a prosecutor.
On the other hand, due to the
resistance
generated by the candidate in the Frente de Todos bloc.
Until now, the government has not indicated that it wants to withdraw it;
it also did not move for the Senate to address it.
