Surprisingly it definitely worked for her and the surprising result - including one image that shocked some viewers - she posted online.

Cousins has suggested using her voice to get rid of stool and scale stains in the toilet - and claims it also does not require rubbing or even the use of gloves.

She poured a small cola bottle into the toilet, left the fizzy drink in the toilet for 4 to 5 hours and revealed impressive results.

"Coke is also great for removing rust! That's why I never drink Coke," one remarked in response and another was amazed: "What? Cola ?! Wow. What a result."

Cousins also shared a photo of herself holding in her bare hands (!) The scale removed from the toilet.

Viewers, however, wondered if it was limescale in her hand or something else disgusting - and were horrified when she picked it up without gloves.

Cousins recognized that people were bothered, edited her original post and clarified: "The material in my hand is the scale that came out of the toilet. It did not bother me not to wear gloves. It is my toilet. If it was public toilets then of course I would wear gloves. Besides, I washed my hands. Well then. "

Other viewers did not see the effect of the cola on the toilet with a good eye. "If that's what cola does to the toilet, I wonder what it does to our body," one wrote in comments and another added, "I like a can of cola cold as ice, but if she can do it, I do not want to even imagine what it does to my stomach." .

Cola can be used as a cleaning agent because of the delicate carbonic and phosphoric acid it contains in very small amounts. These chemicals come from carbon, not the flavorings in soda, so the Diet Coke drink works just as well as regular cola. This means that soda water and other carbonated beverages can also be used for a similar purpose.

The Weizmann Institute of Science's Davidson Institute website also explained that there are two factors responsible for the fact that cola can be used as a rust remover.

First - the degree of acidity (pH) of cola - about 2.5, which means that it is very acidic due to the presence of various acids such as citric acid and carbonic acid in cola.

Because rust is a type of iron oxide, acids react with it in a characteristic way that causes the rust to dissolve.

Second, one of the components of cola is phosphoric acid, which is also present in professional rust removers and therefore cola has

an advantage in removing rust over ordinary water or "just" carbonated beverages that do not contain it.

In any case, they explain that it is probably better to use dedicated rust removal materials, in which the concentration of the active ingredients is much higher, so that they work faster and successfully deal with thicker layers of rust.

How to clean toilets with Coke:

  • Pour one or two glasses of cola.

  • Gently pour the cola over the sides of the toilet so that it flows over the dirt stains.

Although the cola appears to immediately drip down, it actually leaves a thin and effective layer on the stain.

For high stains in the toilet, it is recommended to take an old rag, dip it in cola and rub lightly on the stain.

You can also fill a spray with Coke and spray on the stained area.

  • 3. Give her voice time.

Do not rush to drain water.

The longer the cola stays there, the higher the chance that the cola acids will break down the stains.

Give her at least an hour there.

You can also do this before bed and give it the night.

  • 4. Drain water.

If not all stains have gone down - repeat the process.
