Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov renewed holding the European Union responsible for destroying the structure of cooperation with Russia, criticizing its continued attempts to interfere in Russia's internal affairs and accumulating baseless accusations against it.

Lavrov pointed out that the principles of relations with Russia announced by the European Union some time ago were made through "identifying the need to contain Russia as a priority, while cooperation was limited to areas of concern to the European Union."
Lavrov confirmed after talks with his Armenian counterpart Ara Evazian in Yerevan on the 5th of this month that the European Union bears the responsibility for completely undermining relations with Russia, referring in this regard to the sanctions imposed by the Union against Moscow under false pretenses.
