"
The victim received five stab wounds,
" the mayor (RN) of Hayange, Fabien Engelmann, told AFP on Monday.
“
The firefighters were notified at 12:40 am, but the victim was already in cardiac arrest when they arrived on the scene.
They stayed until 3:00 am,
”he said.
"
The suspect is on the run, he is the victim's companion
," Metz public prosecutor Christian Mercuri told AFP.
The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Metz.
The suspect, convicted of traffic offenses, was serving a sentence of home detention under electronic surveillance (DDSE), said the prosecutor. "
What is sad is that the police station is opposite the place where the events took place
", regretted Fabien Engelmann. “
But unfortunately the police station is closed at night. We had already had to fight to keep it in the town, but, at 6:00 pm, it closes
”.
