Phil Mickelson has never doubted himself during his 30 year career on the PGA Tour and has always retained the hunger and desire to win that drives all great players.

That's what the brother of the six-time Major tournament winner, his caddy Tim, thinks.

Almost forty years old, Tim Mickelson has been on his brother's bag since 2017.

Phil, the oldest

“He never doubted himself,” said Tim Mickelson after Phil won two strokes ahead of Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen on Sunday at Kiawah Island.

Phil Mickelson scored (73) a stroke over par, to finish -6 overall and become the oldest winner of a golf Grand Slam tournament.

It was also his first major title since the 2013 British Open.

“I think the best players in the world all have that.

Phil has demonstrated this for 35 years. "

Before teaming up with his brother, Tim started out as a men's golf coach at Arizona State University.

An excellent golfer, he participated in a tournament at a PGA tour tournament in 1999, missing the cut, then another on the Korn Ferry in 2001, for the same result.

He held the same position in San Diego then for eight years.

Then became head coach at Temple from 2011 to 2016. He was also Jon Rahm's agent for around 17 months at Lagardère Sports.

Left handed to right handed and vice versa

Sunday, the triumph of his brother Phil was an intense moment of emotion.

It was the first time he could share victory in a Major as with Phil on the course, inside the ropes.

"His will and his desire to win now is higher than ever before, in my opinion," said Tim Mickelson.

It's definitely higher than when I started cadding for him. ”

Fun fact: Tim is left-handed but plays right-handed golf.

And his brother does exactly the opposite: Phil is right-handed but plays golf like a left-hander.

In any case, Tim is not lacking in humor, like his brother.

As evidenced by his tweet posted on Sunday, after his brother's victory was acquired at the end of the 103rd PGA Championship.

Not gonna lie, was a little scared walking back to my car in the dark knowing a angry 12ft alligator lives 100ft away.
