The checks started in April "showed that a number of organizations still did not allow Internet users to refuse cookies as easily as to accept them", explains the administrative body in a press release.

These software are used to "track" users while they are browsing the Internet.

Possible sanctions

The list of companies and groups targeted, which have one month to comply or face sanctions, was not disclosed.

In addition to the giants of the net, there are also public players.

All of them incur penalties of up to 2% of their turnover if the one-month deadline is not respected.
