In the Forst district of Wessobrunn, a new location for the fire station and the clubhouse comes into focus.

This is the "Raffeisenfeld" on the southwestern outskirts.

This is to be discussed in the local council on Tuesday.

Wessobrunn / Forst - First it was to be built next to the sports center, then in the old “Bayerischen Hiasl” inn. We are talking about the clubhouse in the Wessobrunn district of Forst. Both locations, at which a new fire station should also be built, are now a thing of the past, since the “Hiasl” was also recently eliminated due to the difficult to estimate but probably very high renovation costs.

In the meantime, however, a third location solution has emerged, which has already been discussed in the municipal council in a non-public meeting.

The municipality has now communicated the result of this by means of written information for the public.

"I would have gladly explained this to you in more detail in a personal event, but unfortunately the current situation does not yet allow this," wrote Wessobrunn's mayor Georg Guggemos.

In the letter he once again referred to the development of the "Club Home" project.

The cost estimate for the first location was between 4.5 and 5 million euros

At the first location in the depression west of the sports home, the cost estimate of a planning office for the project was between 4.5 and 5 million euros. "This magnitude would be difficult or impossible to cope with, especially in the current financial situation caused by Corona," said Guggemos, explaining the reasons for looking for alternatives, which will result in 2020 through the possible takeover of the former restaurant "Zum Bavarian Hiasl ”in long lease. "This possibility of bringing this central building back to life and at the same time making it usable for clubs appeared to be very useful after an initial rough examination," said Guggemos.

However, some factors defeated this idea. Funding would hardly have flowed due to the planned leasing of the restaurant to a commercial operator and the renovation would have amounted to around one million euros according to estimates by local craft businesses. "In addition, the premises in the basement were not ideal for some clubs such as the music band and Schützen and there were also concerns about the noise," reported Guggemos. The long-term lease was also criticized due to sustainability concerns, despite the owner's expressly good conditions. "Ultimately, a new construction or renovation of the Forst fire station would have been added as a further investment," added Guggemos, which would also have made the "Hiasl project" very expensive as an overall solution and which led to the idea being buried.

The municipal council recently took a closer look at two alternatives

Instead, the municipal council recently took a closer look at two alternatives: the site of the current fire station in Templhof and a completely new location, the so-called “Raiffeisenfeld”.

The latter area with around 3000 square meters is located on the county road on the southwestern edge of the village after the old Raiffeisen area in the direction of Linden and was offered to the community for sale.

After weighing the advantages and disadvantages of both options, the council decided to pursue the solution at the “Raiffeisenfeld”.

There are plans to build a relatively inexpensive commercial hall for the fire brigade in the system construction, which will have a basement.

The shooters and musicians should then find their home in the basement.

The current cost estimate for the project, for which there will also be funding, is around 1.5 million euros.

The project, which also provides for the old fire station to be surrendered in the form of a swap, is now on the agenda in the public part of the municipal council meeting on Tuesday, May 25th.

"There we want to discuss the whole thing again, taking into account all suggestions," concluded Guggemos.
