A pair of young men and women in Mun Tung Village, Tung Chung were uncovered and killed in the unit. The police believed that the incident involved love murder.

The 22-year-old man and woman met through an online chat group the year before last. They talked happily and became friends.

The deceased woman died last Saturday (22nd) after being invited by the respondent to Mong Kok to play a plane. Her family was struggling to find no results, and yesterday she called the police for help.

This morning (26th) the police received a report from a woman, saying that they were worried about her boyfriend’s accident. The officers rushed to a flat in Manshun Building and broke into the house. They revealed that the man and woman had died in the house. It is believed that the man had died for some time. She was hung on a nylon rope, while the woman had pinch marks on her neck and her hands had been tied up.

After the police questioned the female reporter and examined the suicide note written by the male deceased, it is believed that he had thought of committing suicide due to unhappy life recently and is investigating the relationship between the two deceased.

The body of the male deceased was sent to the mortuary by the workers.

It is understood that the deceased male was 22 years old and worked as a part-time cook. He was the head of the unit where the incident occurred. He lived with his mother. However, his mother temporarily moved out of the unit due to private affairs. Currently, only the male deceased is living alone at the address.

The deceased woman, Chen Xinqi, was also 22 years old and lived in Tsing Yi District. She is currently studying in a tertiary college.

Chief Inspector Xu Zhanpeng, Assistant Commander (Criminal) of the Lantau Police District, said that at 11:30 this morning, an informant arrived at Mun Shun Building to visit a male friend. As he had been out of contact for some time, no one responded and was worried. He was suicidal, so he called the police for help.

The police and firefighters arrived at the scene and broke into the house. At that time, the air-conditioning was turned on in the unit. The officers found a man hanging from the toilet on the site with a nylon rope and lost consciousness. In addition, a woman was found unconscious on a bed in the hall. At the scene, it was confirmed that the two had no signs of life.

The police blocked the unit involved for investigation.

At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the family of the deceased arrived to understand the situation, and some were emotionally sad.

Police investigation revealed that the two met in an online chat group in 2019, and later became friends and exchanged contact methods.

Last Saturday, the deceased woman left her home and went to a game console center in Mong Kok to have fun at the invitation of her boyfriend. Since the deceased woman has not returned home, her family was worried about her safety, so she reported a missing person to the police yesterday (24th). Until today, it was revealed that the female deceased was the missing person.

According to the forensic examination, the two deceased were initially found to have corpse spots. It is estimated that they have been dead for some time. The forensic doctors initially believe that the male deceased was hanged to death with nylon ropes, and there were no other obvious injuries on his body. The female deceased was dressed intact and neat, with obvious neck There are scars, which are suspected of being pinched, and there are traces of binding on his hands. There is no evidence of sexual assault.

No murder weapon was seized at the scene, but a brief suicide note was seized, believed to have been written by the male deceased, mentioning unhappy life and suicidal thoughts.

According to the police's investigation of the deceased's information, there has been no suicide incident in the past, but he had previously revealed to his girlfriend who reported the incident that he was unhappy recently and discussed suicide matters.

After the initial investigation by the police, love killings were not ruled out. At this stage, it is believed that the case did not involve a third party, and the cause of death of the two deceased remains to be confirmed by autopsy.

The police are also investigating the communication records of the two deceased on social media to determine their relationship.

The police temporarily classified the case as homicide and suicide.
