After more than six hours of debate, the president of the Colombian Senate, Arturo Char, adjourned the plenary session and called for it to continue on May 25 to vote on the motion of no confidence against the Minister of Defense , Diego Molano.

In the debate, several senators intervened and the minister also gave his answer.

Iván Cepeda, senator of the Democratic Pole, mentioned in his speech why this motion of censure was being made against Molano.

“Because he is responsible, in our opinion, for the chain of crimes against humanity perpetrated by members of the Public Force since last April 28;

because his management and the general policy of the Government aims to turn Colombia, from a simulated democracy, into a despotic regime, "said Cepeda.

Violence is not caused by the Police.

The minister said that he knows the pain of young people and everything that has happened and the consequences generated by the violence that is being experienced in the framework of the protests.

"Here none should have been affected and we should not be counting how many civilians there were or how many police officers were, because that violence is what takes lives that this society cannot allow," said Molano.
