A man in Spain has died after being trapped inside a dinosaur statue in a town near Barcelona, Catalan regional police told CNN.
"Everything indicates that this was an accident, but the coroner is examining it," a police spokeswoman told CNN.
The 39-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, died after his "cell phone apparently fell into the dinosaur" and was trapped trying to retrieve it, said a police spokeswoman, who is generally not named. .
Police found the man's body on Saturday in the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, north of Barcelona, after receiving a call from a man and his grandson who said they had noticed something inside the dinosaur statue.
The outdoor dinosaur statue stands in a central city square and has been there since 2009, a city council spokesman told CNN.
Police told CNN there were no apparent signs of violence and that they had not opened an investigation.

The man's family had reported him missing two days before he was found, the city council spokesman said.
