A transfer which was in the pipeline and which was formalized on Wednesday.
The Montpellier club announced this Wednesday the signing for the next three seasons of the center Geoffrey Doumayrou, from La Rochelle.
It's a homecoming for the 31-year-old center three-quarter who was trained at MHR and made his professional debut with the Hérault club (2008-2012).
Doumayrou had been trained at the Pic-Saint-Loup rugby school like Louis Picamoles and Fulgence Ouedraogo.

I come back almost 10 years later with the desire to take up this new challenge, to find my family, my friends and the Montpellier public ”, declares Geoffrey Doumayrou (1.86 m, 95 kg) on the site of the club that won the Challenge Cup on Friday against the English Leicester.
"He is a great competitor and an experienced player who will bring us a lot both in terms of his intrinsic qualities and in the transmission to our young Cistes"
Philippe Saint-André
Geoffrey Doumayrou has just spent four seasons at Stade Rochelais, unhappy finalist of the last Champions Cup (defeat on Saturday against Stade Toulousain).
Philippe Saint-André, Montpellier manager, welcomed this signing.
"We are very happy and very happy that Geoffrey is coming back to MHR," says "PSA".
He is a great competitor and an experienced player who will bring us a lot both in terms of his intrinsic qualities and in the transmission to our young Cistes. ”
After a chaotic season where he fought for a long time to stay in Top 14, the Hérault club has just saved his season by first leaving the red zone in the league, then by winning the Challenge Cup, which offers him a ticket to the next Champions Cup.
