Brasilia-Sana

Brazil has crossed the 450,000 death mark from the emerging corona virus.

And the Brazilian Ministry of Health confirmed in the latest toll published today that the total number of deaths from the virus rose to 45 2013 since March 2020, after 2,173 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

Brazil, with a population of 212 million, ranks second in the number of virus deaths in the world after the United States, with 16 million confirmed infections.

The average daily death rate declined in late April for seven days after it exceeded three thousand in the middle of it and decreased to less than two thousand after a month and remained stable at about 1900 for ten days.

What worries epidemiologists is the increase in the average daily injuries since the beginning of May, with its expected impact on the number of deaths in the coming weeks. This increase can be directly linked to the start of easing restrictions a month ago in a number of states when the number of deaths began to slightly decrease.

In turn, epidemiologists warned of the possibility of a third wave of the spread of the virus in Brazil.

In the latest epidemiological bulletin issued by the Fiucrose reference institute of public health, the risk of a third wave is real, as the number of deaths from the epidemic is, in fact, increasing in eight of the 27 states in Brazil, while it appears to be stable in ten other states.
