The new crown pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong has gradually eased.

The government announced today (26th) that it is expected to resume high sea cruises by the end of July at the earliest.

All crew members and passengers must complete two doses of vaccinations and be eligible to board the ship after 14 days. A small number of people may be exempted from medical certificates due to health reasons. Passengers under the age of 16 may be exempted because they are not yet eligible for injections.

All passengers must hold a 48-hour negative test result before boarding, and must install "Travel with peace of mind". Another shipping company will set up a contact tracking device.

As Hong Kong laws do not apply to the high seas, the government will require shipping companies to commit to complying with Hong Kong’s epidemic prevention regulations, otherwise they will qualify as DQ shipping companies.

In case there is a suspected case of infection during the itinerary, the itinerary will be suspended immediately, and the cruise ship must return to the voyage and initiate emergency management measures, including the inspection and quarantine of all ship participants.
