A group of cleaning and maintenance workers who worked at Kim Kardashian's mansion has sued the celebrity in a Los Angeles court for allegedly violating their rights as employees, local media reported on Tuesday.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of seven workers who claim that the businesswoman did not pay them wages according to their contracts and did not give them the breaks established by law.
Employees who worked at Kim Kardashian's property in Hidden Hills, an exclusive sector in the Santa Monica Mountains,
allege that when they were hired they were told they were full-time workers but did not obtain the promised benefits
, according to documents obtained by the entertainment news site TMZ.

The complaint includes the case of an employee who claims he was fired after complaining about his rights and those of his son, who says he had only 16 years old but worked more than the maximum hours allowed for a minor under California labor law.

The names of the plaintiffs are Aron Cabrea, Rene Ernesto Flores, Jesse Fernandez, Robert Araiza, Andrew Ramirez, his brother Christopher Ramirez and their son Andrew Ramirez Jr., the minor.
A representative for the celebrity told TMZ that cleaning employees are not hired by her directly but by a third-party vendor for maintenance and cleaning services, so Kardashian "is not responsible for how the vendor runs its business and the agreements you have made directly with your staff. "
Frank Kim, the attorney representing the workers, told the Page Six news site that "wage theft and other workplace violations are a widespread problem in Los Angeles."

The lawyer added that he is currently investigating other possible violations allegedly committed by the television star, "as well as against other powerful families and companies." Employees who sued the television celebrity are seeking monetary compensation. Last February, Kardashian returned to made headlines when he formally filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West, thus ending a six-year marriage between two of America's biggest names in entertainment.
