The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, renewed the international community's demand to implement its obligations and provide protection for the Palestinian people and the holy sites in occupied Palestine, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Wafa news agency reported that Mansour confirmed in letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly that the continuous attacks and violations of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against the Palestinians and the holy places in Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary, are war crimes and crimes against humanity that require accountability. International.
Mansour stressed the need to translate Security Council, General Assembly and Human Rights Council resolutions into actions and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinians, their land and their holy sites, pointing to the martyrdom of more than 250 Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, among them more than 70 children within two weeks.
Mansour pointed out that in addition to the stifling blockade of the Gaza Strip that has continued for 14 years, the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza destroyed thousands of homes and commercial establishments and displaced more than 100,000 Palestinians, most of whom sought refuge in 58 schools run by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), in addition to targeting water infrastructure. And sewage and power networks, and damage to dozens of hospitals and health care centers, including the only laboratory (Covid 19) in Gaza, and dozens of educational facilities.
