An extensive online meeting took place recently: The youth district day came together in digital form.

The youth district day started last Friday with a gigantic agenda.

Last year, the committee had to postpone its meeting due to corona.

This year the organizers avoided any obstacles: the meeting took place online.

However, the online session also turned out to be a challenge: the digital voting caused some problems.

After the first third of the total of 15 inquiries that the committee members were allowed to decide on, all young people had the hang of it.

Under the moderation of District Administrator Helmut Petz and Regina Cordary from the Freising District Office, the representatives of the schools in the district worked their way through the agenda.

Sitting in the courtyard

Viktoria Belloth from the Camerloher-Gymnasium Freising made the first request. She asked the committee for financial support of 190 euros. With this money, the high school students would like to purchase seat cushions and a storage box in order to create flexible seating options for the inner courtyard of the school during breaks or during outdoor lessons.

District Administrator Helmut Petz was downright enthusiastic about the first application of the morning: “That is exactly the responsibility of our committee.

We support the school without interfering in the school operation, ”said the district administrator.

District Councilor Herbert Bengler, who also attended the meeting with great interest, only asked the high school student to try to go shopping in a Freising shop.

Youth district councilor Chiara Vogt from the Fachoberschule Freising thought particularly of the committee's budget: She suggested that the students could bring their own pillow.

The discussion

Evelyn Buchberger, who is also a student at the Camerloher-Gymnasium and who had submitted the application together with Viktoria Belloth, explained to Vogt, however, that this could hardly be implemented by bus, train or bike.

And even if the pillows brought along were stored, problems would not be ruled out, according to the applicants: "Then arguments are inevitable about who has which pillow now," says Belloth.

Helmut Petz also agreed: “If so, we'll do it sensibly with a class set of uniform seat cushions.” The majority of the youth councils agreed with this: With 33 supporters and four votes against, the Camerloher can look forward to new seating options.

However, the conference was not that successful for every applicant.

Numerous applications had to be rejected due to a lack of responsibility and forwarded to the appropriate authorities (report to follow).
