The incidence
values are
not only developing in a positive direction in Munich. The value is going down all over Bavaria. It even made a real jump from Tuesday to Wednesday and, according to the RKI, is 45.9 today (previous day: 56.6). This means that the entire Free State has slipped below the important limit of 50. And the trend continues across Germany. The incidence in the republic is 46.8 (previous day: 58.4).
There is, however, a damper.
The Germany-wide Corona hotspot is still in Bavaria.
The city of Memmingen reported a seven-day incidence of 161. Only the Swabian district of Günzburg (101.6) is also above the limit of 100 in Bavaria. The numbers must be viewed with caution.
Because of the long weekend of Pentecost, there were fewer tests and fewer laboratory tests.
As a result, fewer new infections were reported.

Will Munich soon be easing?
Today, Wednesday, the 7-day incidence of 38.7 is below the crucial 50 limit for the third day in a row.
In order to make it easier for the residents of the state capital (including a visit to the outdoor restaurant without a test), it would have to stay that way for two more days.
However, the RKI had only confirmed a data breach on Saturday and less was reported to the authorities over Pentecost;
therefore, the current figures should be viewed with a little caution.

Memmingen is nationwide Corona hotspot number 1 (see previous update). The Bavarian city is therefore relying on further controls in the fight against the virus. Due to the persistently high number of cases, a security service in the city center will check on Friday whether the people there are complying with the mask requirement and alcohol ban. A city spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the city of Memmingen had an incidence of 195 on Tuesday and was thus at the top in Germany. Due to low vaccination rates, the city in Allgäu recently received around 1,600 additional doses of vaccine from the Free State, which were injected at the weekend as part of a special campaign.
The cause of the persistently high corona numbers was unclear on Tuesday, according to the city administration.
"The infection process is still diffuse," said a spokeswoman.
Lord Mayor Manfred Schilder (CSU) named as one possible reason that many employees at the Memmingen industrial site “cannot work from home and are thus exposed to a higher risk of infection”.

Memmingen remains the German city with the highest corona incidence. After all, the 7-day value has now slipped below 200. According to the RKI dashboard, Memmingen had an incidence of 195.0 on Tuesday morning. The authority points out, however, that the overall drop in values is likely to be related to the low level of test and reporting activity over the long weekend of Pentecost.
The corona numbers have fallen across Germany and Bavaria.
So Munich also stays below the 50 mark and levels off at 43.8.

Memmingen is Germany's number 1 corona hotspot. The RKI reported an incidence of 238.1 on Whit Monday (see update from May 24, 8:05 a.m.).
Weiden in the Upper Palatinate (11.7) was at the lower end of the scale, followed by the Tirschenreuth district (18.0) and the city of Amberg (19.0).
In Munich, the incidence on Monday was 49.7, just below the 50 mark.
In Memmingen, the incidence was over 200 on Monday for the sixth day in a row, as the city announced, citing the RKI.
For the citizens there, this means strict corona rules such as closed schools, closed shops and a night curfew.

Munich slipped below the 50 mark, the value is currently 49.7 (previous day: 53.5).
The city of Memmingen (238.1) remains Germany's number 1 hotspot. The cities of Coburg (160.7) and Schweinfurt (142.3) follow in sixth and eleventh place.
When interpreting the current figures, however, the RKI points out that fewer people go to the doctor on public holidays and bridge days, “which means that fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out.

The city announced that there had been technical problems with the transmission of the infection numbers.
According to the RKI figures, a total of 14 cities and districts were above the 100 limit in Bavaria on Sunday.
Weiden in the Upper Palatinate (14.0) was at the lower end of the scale, followed by the cities of Bayreuth (17.4) and Amberg (19.0).
In the whole of Free State, the incidence on Pentecost Sunday was 62.6 - and thus slightly below the national average of 64.5.
