Nuremberg - The requirements of the Free State of Bavaria in the current Corona crisis make it possible to open the outdoor pools in Nuremberg from Thursday (May 27).

In addition to the Westbad, the Stadionbad at Hans-Kalb-Straße 42 will also open, writes the city of Nuremberg in a message.

There are three different time slots that can be booked for a visit for each Nuremberg * spa.

The stadium pool opens Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the afternoon time window is one hour longer, namely from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the evening window from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. is one hour shorter.

In the Westbad, the opening times are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. for early swimmers.

The next time slot is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In the afternoons, the Westbad opens its doors from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays there is no early swimming, the morning window extends from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The afternoon opening times correspond to those of the weekdays.

Tickets for a visit to the swimming pool in Nuremberg must be purchased in advance

Tickets for the outdoor pools are offered in advance via an online shop.

500 tickets are available for each time slot.

There are 100 cards for early swimming in the Westbad.

The tickets can be ordered online at www.nuernbergbad.de.

The system achieves a registration of the bath visitors and thus a contact follow-up in case of infection is possible.

In addition, it avoids long queues in front of the baths when the weather is good.

Those who cannot buy tickets online can purchase tickets in advance from May 27, Monday to Friday (not on public holidays) between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the cash desk in Südstadtbad.

Reduced admission prices for outdoor swimming pools in Nuremberg

During the corona pandemic, the following reduced entry fees apply to NürnbergBad's outdoor pools: adults 3.50 euros per time slot, reduced entry 2.50 euros, children and young people 1.50 euros.

The family or group ticket 1 costs 5.50 euros, the family or group ticket 2 costs 8 euros.

Children under six years of age do not pay admission, they are registered using the ticket of the legal guardian.

Children under the age of twelve are only allowed to enter the outdoor pools if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian or an adult responsible for their care.

Entry to outdoor swimming pools in Nuremberg only with a negative corona test

Visiting the outdoor pools is currently only possible for people with a negative test result, for people who have been completely vaccinated or who can be shown to have recovered.

For admission, an identity card and a current, negative test result (PCR test *, which was carried out a maximum of 24 hours before the visit to the pool or an antigen rapid test which was carried out a maximum of 24 hours ago by medically trained staff), with a personalized certificate in paper form or digitally.

Self-tests are not permitted.

Those who have already been fully vaccinated can show their vaccination certificate as proof of complete vaccination protection (from 14 days after the final vaccination) or a documentation of the second vaccination (official document of the Bavarian Vaccination Center).

Recovered guests require proof of the positive PCR test result, which is at least 28 days old and not older than six months.

At the beginning of each time window (not for early swimming), a service provider provides the opportunity to do a professional antigen rapid test directly in front of the bath.

The capacity is available for around 25 tests per hour.

When visiting the pool, the time it takes to carry out and evaluate the tests should be taken into account.

From a stable seven-day incidence of less than 50 in Nuremberg, the test is not required.

Nuremberg: distance and hygiene rules in swimming pools

Before and in the bathroom, the general rules of distance and hygiene must be observed. In the area of ​​the cash registers, changing rooms, toilets and restaurants, visitors from their 15th birthday must wear FFP2 masks. Guests under the age of 15 are required to wear a mouth and nose cover. Children up to their sixth birthday do not have to wear a mask. People who are exempt from the mask requirement must show appropriate proof.


The showers with warm water can be used this year.

However, according to the specifications of the Free State of Bavaria, technical and organizational restrictions, for example the number of simultaneous users, must be made.

In the Westbad, only some of the showers are therefore initially available.

The so-called "warm house" must remain closed.

The showers in the stadium pool are expected to be available from the first week of June.

Swimming in Nuremberg's outdoor pools: special bathing rules

The maximum number of people per pool remains limited.

The number of guests allowed in the pool is based on the size of the pool.

Hot tubs and water attractions are currently closed.

Jumps and slides are released alternately.

In the swimmer's pool, double lanes are marked by lines, in which you can swim in the "roundabout" in order to be able to keep the distance rules in the water.
