Sunday afternoon, the mother had planned to take advantage of the Pentecost weekend to start gardening.
It was while digging up bamboo at the bottom of her garden that she made the disastrous discovery.
In her wooded land, located rue de l'Eglise in Poissy (Yvelines), this inhabitant was surprised to come across human bones.
She first believed in an animal skeleton buried by the former owners of the large house.
But it is indeed a piece of human skull that appeared in the turned over earth.
She immediately called on the 17th and the medico-judicial unit moved.
On site, two skulls were finally found among the bones.
The police believe that these bones have spent about fifty years underground in this land near the Notre-Dame collegiate church.
The bones transferred to the Garches forensic institute
The district, located in the city center, is known to have been built on an old cemetery.
Neighbors confirmed to the mother that it was not that rare.
The pavilion at the end of the street faces the park of the building built in the 12th century.
From its foundation in 1016 by King Robert II, nicknamed "the Pious", to its restoration in the 19th century by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, to whom we also owe the work of Notre-Dame de Paris, the stones of the collegiate church are the privileged witness of the history of the city where the future Saint-Louis was baptized on April 25, 1214.
No suspicious element was noted on the spot but the residents were left with a nice surprise.
The bones were transferred to the forensic institute in Garches (Hauts-de-Seine).
