For everyone it was “the best medicine against corona”, concludes house manager Evi Hübl.

Moosburg

- Last Friday there was a hearty “folk festival at home” in Moosburg's Anneliese-Schweinberger-Haus for people with disabilities.

The special circumstances in the corona pandemic made people inventive: "Since we couldn't come to the folk festival, the festival came to us," explained Evi Hübl, the head of the housing facility at Lebenshilfe Freising.

There, 27 women and men with disabilities live together in four small groups in family-like structures.

The main organizers of the folk festival were Heike Stöger and Silvana Dallago, supported by many colleagues and volunteers.

As a welcome gift, the residents Hannelore Metzinger and Manfred Koppauer presented gingerbread hearts to all guests. There were all kinds of culinary delights for the festival feeling: grilled sausages with sauerkraut, potato salad and large pretzels - even cotton candy was a must. Marcel Kowalski provided successful musical entertainment with guitar and rousing tent music. We danced extensively after the meal. "Without our many voluntary helpers, we would not have been able to make the festival so wonderful," said Evi Hübl, praising the helping hands of Anna and Rainer Heinzmann, Angelika Forster, Irene Kronfellner, Angelika Ripperger and Melanie and Isabella Seidlmayer, among others. The new caretaker, Santo Rigatuso, who had also donated the sausages, stood at the grill for the first time.

In the end, house management Evi Hübl was happy: “The people we looked after and our guests were able to enjoy carefree hours in a folk festival atmosphere despite all the necessary precautionary measures.

This is the best medicine against corona! "
