There is a colorful anniversary program in which art is in the foreground.

Nuremberg - On Tuesday (June 1st) the anniversary events for Großgründlach's 1000th birthday start in Nuremberg *.

The celebration will be with an open-air exhibition by the artist Dieter Erhard and an extensive supporting program organized by the Kulturladen Schloss Almoshof in the Office for Culture and Leisure (KUF), as announced by the city of Nuremberg.

Nuremberg: Art is the focus of the 1000 year celebration of Großgründlachs

In addition to the exhibition, there is a photo competition and a children's art campaign, in which visitors can creatively deal with the history of Großgründlach.

The art project under the patronage of Mayor Prof. Dr.

Julia Lehner initiates the anniversary celebrations planned until September 30th.

Due to the pandemic, the official ceremony is still a long time coming - it will not take place until 2022.

Nuremberg: artist Dieter Erhard shows sculptures

The exhibition by Erlangen artist Dieter Erhard goes back to an initiative of committed citizens of Kleingründlach and shows five large-format sculptures on the Kleingründlach alluvial pond. The upcycling works of art made of stainless steel and fluorescent Plexiglas live from their luminosity, an effect that occurs when the light breaks on the milled edges of the plastic. A special attraction is “Marilyn the Mermaid”, an object that splashes water. Visitors can control this from the bank. The exhibition takes place from June 1st to September 30th at the Kleingründlacher Schwemmweiher between Klein- and Großgründlach at Kleingründlacher Straße 1a.

In keeping with the anniversary and the exhibition, the Schloss Almoshof culture shop is organizing an accompanying program that invites you to become artistically active.

In a children's art campaign for daycare groups and children from the age of five, each child can create a work on the subject of “1000 Years of Großgründlach” and hand it in at the Almoshof Palace culture shop, the Bürgeramt Nord or the Friedrich Staedtler School by 30 September.

The techniques are freely selectable.

Prizes will be raffled among all the works submitted, including a travel voucher worth 250 euros, five Fischertechnik kits, surprise packages and much more.

Nuremberg: Photo competition for adults and young people

A photo competition is advertised for all adults and young people aged 14 and over. From June 1st to September 30th, participants can submit their photos via the website of the Kulturladen Schloss Almoshof. An independent jury awards the best pictures. The winners will receive prize money of 1000 euros, a travel voucher worth 250 euros, an art print by the artist Dieter Erhard, a sightseeing flight over Nuremberg * and other prizes. The submitted photographs will be presented in an online exhibition.

Participation in the children's art campaign and the photo competition is free.
